Well they seem to be fine pretty hardy and easy to take care of although they seem to cloud up the water pretty quick I havent really had any problems with them so far. Although you do have to watch them, occasionally they will try to eat a rock, othe than that their pretty simple. Any questions let me know.
Also I wanted to add that I just added 2 new bettas- Chuck and Champ(the 2nd) 1 neon- Lola

Hmmm I've had some pet or other my whole life. I'm very new to the fish world... had my first betta (Dusk) die within a week. I think he was sick when I bought him and not having my tank cycled (lack of information) didn't help either. My husband thought he was being kind by buying me another betta to replace him straight away (which is the one I have now), needless to say, I wasn't happy that his tank was still not ready for him. But anyhow, he's still with me (6 weeks), and I also have 3 cats: 1 chinchilla persian named Snowflake, a Maine Coon (Cooper) and a black DLH (Kynky). And yes, the house is full of cat hair!!!!!

I would not call them pets, they're more like diligent companions.
The companion animals that live with me are (all adopted):
Three dogs;
Senpai - Chow/Border Collie Crossbreed; Black; 4 years
Sandy - Miniature Poodle; White/Cream; 6-8 years
Chewy - Dauschand/Miniature Poodle Crossbreed; Brown; 11 years
Five cats;
Trotsky - grey - 4 years Fuu Fuu - white and orange; 4 years Mr. Pip - white and orange; 2 years Tries - white and orange; 2 years Lucky Ham Ham - white and orange; 1 year
One iguana; Nobunaga Oda - green; age unsure
One betta splendens; Diao Chan - pinkish purple body with purple fins and white tips, and blue eyes. (He was almost clear when we got him from Wally World.. he was going to die.. and when we brought him home, he blossomed into this most gorgeous fish! He has to be the prettiest betta I have ever had the pleasure of caring for.)
That's about all.

I found myself earlier in this post, under my old username I couldn't remember! haha But so much has changed since then I need to post again now that I am back
I have 7 female bettas 1. Serena 2.Kinda 3.Mina 4.Alustriel 5.Diana 6.Caroline 7.Anastasia
I have one goldfish that I bought out of the feeder tank for 12 cents. His name in Weasley. He lives in my container pond on the deck outside with some lillies. My two turtles Mickey and Sushi live on the deck in a small kiddie pool. I have a guppy tank with Coda, an orange, spotted male. And Francesca, who is only just barely big enough to tell she is a female. Plus about 10 of Franki's younger brothers and sisters who haven't been named yet. And Ringo, a clown loach I bought to get rid of snails In one 55 gallon I have a 5 inch angelfish named Gabriel and 3 smaller angels, about 2-3 inches named Nightwing, Eclipse, and Spirit. There are also 3 spotted cories with no names in that tank. In the other 55 is an 8 inch oscar named Hagrid and 2 plecos named Sarah and Mr. Pleco. In the bedroom is a 10 gallon tank with 5 white cloud mountain minnows. In the kitchen is one pregnant mommy mollie named Peaches and 2 babies (maybe more). I have 2 breeder angelfish names Aragorn and Arwen. My daughter's tank has 2 clown loaches named Max and 10 neon tetras called The First Years.
That about covers it.

Besides the Betta, we have 3 dogs. *Tubbs - male shepherd mix (I adore him.) *Trixy - female lab mix (Rescued along with 5 puppies. Smart, smart dog.) *Rascal - male Shi Tzu (He adores my husband. My husband adores him. I'd personally never own another Shi Tzu. Not too smart.)
2 cats *Clancy - female fat cat (looks like a holstien cow and talks a lot *Gipetto - male black longhair (freaky -- only associates with my stepdaughter.
10 gallon community tank * 4 platies of various types * 2 guppies * 1 ramshorn snail
75 gallon community tank *2 black angel fish *2 Pearl gouromies *9 cory cats, 3 ea of 3 varieties * 3 swordtails * 1 crazy guppy (Steve) who was way too active for the 10 gallon -- he kept pestering one of the Platies, now he swims with the swordtails. * 5 Pearl Danios
It's hard to stop! Luckily, we have the resources to provide good care for all of our pets.
