my youngest betta Kingsley can jump about an inch out of the water (as in an inch of his body is out at a time). It makes me afraid he'll jump out of his tank though... my other bettas (older ones) just stick their heads out of the water, like yours.

Aw, so nice! Before the big tank was ready for them, one would let me touch her, but now that they are in the big tank, we have been nipped on our arms just while changing water. Nothing like having a fish jump up to bite ya. No more finger play for us. My daughter has been nipped 3 times while trying to adjust stuff. Feels like you've been pinched. I think that they think we are trying to take over their turf or something, because they are well fed. They love to come up and see us when we aren't 'in' their tank. They come and wiggle around and stare and follow us back and forth.

Oh! LOL My daughter said she thinks it is because we have flat brown moles (spots) on our arms and they think they are something to eat! Could be! ;D
