www.glofish.com/Have you guys seen these? They really look cute... Not so much the glow-in-the-dark aspect (though that's pretty cool) so much as that gorgeous red color... It doesn't appear, from what I've read, like it's harmful to the fish (and yes, I've read other articles that aren't the ones written by these people, giving me outside opinions too), like dyes and such. I'm thinking about getting some when they're available - it'll depend on a bunch of factors, of course, but they do look pretty nifty. Thoughts?

They are pretty cool... The "glo" in the glofish is not harmful to them, just as you were saying. These little guys are geneticly altered danios, they're not died or "painted" like they do to some other fish, like glass fish or parrot fish. From what I understand they took a gene from a salt water coral that kind of glows, and modified the danios genes with the coral gene, developing the glofish. They are supposed to be able to reproduce just fine, and make other little glofish, and they aren't supposed to be to delicate either. I can't wait to see them in person... I'm planning on ordering some at the petstore where I work as soon as they are available.

I don't think they would mix well with angels... angels are much bigger and more aggressive, and they are cichlids... danios are pretty small, they might end up being angel lunch.

i saw them at a (sort of about 1/2 hour away) local pet store a few days ago and they are really pretty! they arent really RED though, they are really more of a pink, but not a "normal" pink. im going to get some in a week or two. i think i will start with only 2 though. if they are like other danios ive kept the $5.99 per fish will be a worthwhile investment. im actually glad they are pink instead of red.
