I was wondering if anyone here has heard of Penn-Plax Plant Anchors, and have tried using these in their aquariums. They're these thing pieces of lead, or so they seem, and they supposedly hold your plants in place when you tie them around their base. The only thing is, I'm not sure if it seems safe to put these in water with the bettas... Does anyone have any input on this?

I have been using them on all of my plants for about 3 years now with no problems at all. I use them on my live and plastic plants so I can move them easily when cleaning the tank and not have to uproot everything constantly.

I must be cheap, for plant anchors I use rocks. I just tie the plant to the rock with fishing line then cut the line off short. I also reuse my silk plant bases, if I have to pitch a silk plant I pull the plant off the base, if you check around you can find silk plants that don't have the wire in them, just use aquarium glue and stick the new plant in the old base.
