OK, I think that I'm about ready to make the change to live plants both in my 2.5 gallons and my 10 gallon. What would you reccomend? I'd like to landscape the 10 gallon a bit (tall stuff in the back, low grasses up front, etc), but I'd just like to get plants for the 2.5 gallons that can deal with water changes (if something like that is availible). Thanks!

There are heaps out there; I personally have an Ozelot sword (large leafed, Echinodorus 'Ozelot'), Hairgrass (looks just like grass, Eleocharis sp.), Anubias nana (small, compact, grows on driftwood), Ambulia (tall stem plant, Limnophila sp.), Parrot's Feather (another tall stem plant, Myriophyllum sp.), Contortionist Val (tall grass-like plant, Vallisneria sp.), and Elodea (oxygen weed) in one tank, and Java fern (nice large leafed fern, Microsorum pteropus) and Elodea in the other tank. Java fern and Anubias nana are nice for 100% water changes and for flexibility because they don't have to grow in the gravel; you can tie them to a rock or piece of wood, so they can be moved at will. They say to start off with some fast growing stem plants first, to help achieve balance and beat algae, and then slowly convert to more difficult plants. Here are a couple of links to help you out... fins.actwin.com/mirror/plant-list.html - listing of all sorts of plants with a brief description www.tropica.dk - nice detailed descriptions, with watercolours of and ideal parameters for each plant www.plantedtank.net - has a really really good forum on planted tanks HTH
