I have a ten gallon with goldfish in it. I have had it for months now without a heater, and they've all been fine, I actually got them from my boyfriends father in law. He had them in his pond ion his backyard but they all mated so much that when summer came back around he decided to get rid of some of them, anyways they were in his pond all winter long and none of them died or anything. Anyways my question is what is the best temp for goldfish?

How many goldfish do you have in there? The rule of thumb is 10 gallons per goldfish.

Actually right now there are six there will be four left after this weekend but they've been in there for months with no problems(surprisingly they are the only ones out of my crew who have never been sick). When I got them there were about 35 in a fourty gallon tank and were like that for about 3 months. My concern with the temp was that they were in a pond for a while and were in there throughout the winter and got used to the "hibernation" just wanted to keep them from that.

I must admit that's a whole lot better than 35 in a 40 gallon
