Anyone have experience or input on cool water fish?
Down the road i was thinking about getting a cool water fish aquarium, maybe 5-10 gallon.
What types of cool water fish are there?
Can they be kept in unfiltered tanks?
Thanks!

The only coldwater fish that I know of are goldfish and white cloud mountain minnows. If you're going for a 5-10 gallon tank, goldfish wouldn't be a wise choice. The rule of thumb for a goldfish is 20 gallons for your first fish, and 10 gallons for each additional fish. They are also very messy. You could have a school of white clouds in either a 5 or 10 gallon, but its best to cycle the tank first, and to cycle, you do need a filter.

There aren't many cold water fish (aside from goldfish) that will fit conveniently in a 5-10 gallon tank, and that going to be your main problem.
