Oh yeah never thought of that. But the tanks are inside and the air would be on most likley so karma would need a heater.

Karama not to be rude but what were you thinking? Black tetras need a heater and you can't put a betta in with black tetras thats murder! You should of asked the lps what was compatible with the black tetras. And they would have told you in a heart beat that you CAN NOT DO THAT! The black tetras will kill your betta!! So PLEASE get that betta out NOW!! And put a heater in there NOW! I feel sorry for that betta. Fish keeping is a learning experience, filled with many subjective opinions, and I assure you, that I would never consciously expose to my Betta to anything harmful. I consulted the pet store, and they helped my hand pick fish which would be compatible with my Betta. As it turned out, the temperaments of my fish were in fact not compatible, and I came to this site asking for advice, not criticism. Thank you. As for the heater issue: It's 30*C in my room, and the tank stays at a constant and acceptable temperature, more than adequate for freshwater tropical fish. Oh, and please don't feel sorry for my Betta. He's very well loved.

I think that it's about 80... I'm not sure.. I'm Canadian And today I am going to get a little tank for my Betta. I figure I owe it to him for making him stressed out. I am hoping to have a planted tank, but i've never had live plants (the petstores in my area carry fantastic variety). Does anyone have any good sites in the Planting-For-Dummies genre?

Try www.google.com and type in how do I succesfully plant a aquarium. That should work or you could do what you said planting for dummies that might work to. LOL

GONG SHOW.
Well at 2 am I finally had everything set up and ready to go. We tried UGF- not good. We tried sand- not good. We tried plants- DOA. So now, he's in a little unfiltered tank with a hood and a light. It's the best I can do for him, and he seems happy enough. I think that if I can find a small enough piece of driftwood, I will try and get some java moss for him. (Can't find java fern in my area)
My 10 gal. hasn't been doing to well.. My tetras are really stressed out. They keep losing their colouring, and the tank seems foggy. Levels are all normal. Moving plants around caused some debris to be raised. Will vacuum again.
Thanks to everyone for their advice. I appreciate the prompt replies!
