I had an idea if I put one of my black tetras from my 10g to my 20g then put my gourami in the 10g. Could I do that? One alone won't do it, you're going to need more than that. Again, none of this guarantees that the gourami won't attack them, jsut that they're safer with more numbers. You still have to condition the gourami.

So if I put this gourami in the 10g then after I get the 4 black tetras and the pleco in I put him in the 20g would that be considered enough moving around so he doesn't get estabished to a tank.

What about the gourami? It will be his 2nd day in the 1g tommorow and you said he couldn't stay there but 2 days so I was wondering if I could put the gourami in the 10g with the black tetras and the pleco?

I just took the gourami out of the 20g because he scared the tetras so much that they won't come out to swim they were hiding in the plants. So now I am getting ready to put him in the 10g and if he attacks the fish in that tank I'll take him out and put him back in the 1g. Then tommorow I'm going to call the lps I got him from and see if I can return him for a differnt fish and if they say no then my friend will take him. Could I put this gourami in a 2.5g tank with heater permently?

I gave a specific recommendation to you earlier:
I recommended putting the gourami in the 10 gallon, and putting all the rest of the fish in the 20 gallon. This will give them more room (and you can put more fish in the tank) while keeping the gourami away from them.
I also gave a bit of general advice:
We've talked this to death already, you have to make up your mind.

Sorry I just want to make sure because it will be two weeks before I could get all the fish out of the 10g. Do you think I could put him in a 2 1/2g tank with heater for a permanant home so I could put a different type of fish in the 10g? And I did decondition the gouramis territorality response he was in the 1g for 2 days like you said then I put him in the 20g then I put him in the 10g but he started attacking them to. So I had take him out because I didn't want him to kill the fish. So sorry I just want to know everything I can before I make a decision.

Do you think I could put him in a 2 1/2g tank with heater for a permanant home so I could put a different type of fish in the 10g? The gourami will eventually reach 4 or 5 inches long, and it really needs the swimming room of something like a 29 gallon tank. There is no set amount of time to break a fish's territorality habits, and even then some fish just won't get along with other smaller ones. You have to realize that keeping fish of significantly different sizes isn't always a good idea in a small tank, and will cause normally docile fish to harass each other. I've given you everything you need to know. We've talked to this to death and I'm done.
