It doesn't look like it goes the full thickness of the tank wall...but it is near the bottom where an actual rupture could be disastrous... It's a judgment call, accountingchick... I do recall one member here who contacted Minibow when her tank cracked and they replaced it for free. Might be worth a call/email?

Thank you for the tip abm. I will get out my paperwork on my tank to see if I can contact them. The crack is on the inside of the tank. I can't feel it on the outside. I will keep checking on it throughout the day to see if it is getting worse. I have a one gallon bowl to keep Little Charlie in if the crack gets worse, or if something major happens. Hopefully a rupture will not occur.

Well I got out my paperwork and found the 800 number, and of course they are closed for the weekend so I left a detailed message. I also found their website and found their email address and emailed them as well. Hopefully they will replace the tank before something catastrophic happens.

I don't know it would help, but you might want to reinforce the are on the outside with duct tape or something.

ooo accountingchick...let me know what they say. I discovered my 'spare' mini-bow has cracks where the suction cups were for the heater. I DON'T trust it to put water in it. Its less than a year old, but i know i no longer have the receipt...so i'd been considering contacting all-glass as well.

I still have the receipt on my tank, but he did not ask to see it. twoluvcats also has a cracked tank, but does not have the receipt. She has contacted them via email, but she has not said what their response has been yet. I guess we will have to wait and hear from her.

I agree, it is good to see companies stand behind their products for a change. They didn't even want me to send the old tank back to the company, and the gentlemen that i dealt with was so friendly and personable. I know that I will be definitely continue to purchase their products in the future. He said that with the holiday coming up there might be a little delay in the shipping, but that I should receive it sometime next week. I will of course keep you all updated.

Are the minibow tanks acrylic or glass?
My 1 gallon acrylic tank was warping after about 3 mths of use.
I purposely purchased an acrylic due to a childhood glass tank that leaked. I liked the one piece design of the acrylic tanks.
Are they reliable? I also am asking this because I may want to go to a larger 10 - 20 gallon tank set up (non Betta) , and want to know if I should avoid acrylic.

The minibows are acrylic. Even though mine had gotten a crack in it, I would still recommend them. My parents had glass tanks in the past, and like you said there was a problem with it leaking. I think acrylic would be a good choice.
