Personally, I don't know about a big acrylic tank. The largest I've had is 5 gallons...warping could be an issue and also discoloration...wouldn't you hate a big warped spot in the middle of your $200 45g bowfront acrylic?!?!? Really, *most* newly-purchased, freshly sealed glass tanks will not leak...the problems come when they've been in storage and the selant has been allowed to dry out. I have a glass 29 and a glass 10, both have been pretty bullet proof for me...whereas i've had 2 acrylic tanks crack in the space of a year...now granted, I tend to move my acrylic tanks more than my glass ones. Plus...pricewize...I think a $20 glass tank will be cheaper than acrylic. But really...it ends up to be personal preference...I've read 'i've gone acryic and won't go back' testimonials at other fish sites on the web. Just to update you all on my querey to all-glass about my cracked tank...I DON'T have my receipt and basically they nicely said 'sorry, charlie' LOL But they were very friendly about it. hehe I lucked out this weekend tho and BigAl's had a free shipping deal AND thier 2.5 mini-bow's were on sale for $19.99 WOOO so i was able to replace that one pretty cheap

I still had the sales receipt to mine but they never asked to see it so I find it odd that they would not exchange the tank for you. I guess sometimes honesty doesn't pay. It is good though that you found a replacement at a good price, so I guess all is not lost.

so how did the swapping go? did Little Charlie react to it much? Thank you for asking. It was a little rough on Little Charlie since he is starting to slow down a little because of his age (He is getting close to two years old), but I think that it went fairly well. The water quality and temp stayed regulated thank goodness.
