Hello Im moving from college back to my house on thursday. I was just wondering what I should do. I went to a LPS and picked up some bags to transfer the fish. I have : 3 Bettas 3 Gouramis 1 Female Betta 13 Guppy Fry I was going to put the fry into a betta container for the trip home because they might get caught in the bags corners. Now I was just wondering... 1. Should I leave 50% of the water in my tank if I wanted to keep the water cycled. 2. Where should I keep my fish? I heard that they do better if you put a towel over them in a cooler so it's pitch black. It's going to be a bouncy ride since I ride in a Jeep... so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

I heard that they do better if you put a towel over them in a cooler so it's pitch black. The theory with that is if they’re packed well and it’s dark, they’ll go to sleep. This in turn helps to keep them calmer and cut down on their ammonia and CO2 production during travel time.

EVERYONE IS ALIVE!! ;D I put all 3 bettas in seperate bags, and then took 75% of my water out of my tank and kept the gouramis inside. As for the guppy fry I used a female betta cup... everyone is very well

Let us know how the fry continue to do.

The waters PH is 7.1 or 7.2, its very close.. as at school it was 7.2, so not really a big difference. The fish are still doing great. Also, it's much much MUCH easier to keep control of the temp at my house, because the temperature doesnt fluctuate as much as a college dorm.
