Ok...I just found this product Stability from Seachem...its description sounds very similar to Cycle. Honestly, I'd rather be using a Seachem product. I currently use Cycle to stave off ammonia spikes when I change out filter media...or deep clean a tank. Are these two products really similar and is it worth searching out the Seachem version, or just sticking with Cycle?

It's new to me. I'd find out what type of bacteria they use, and that should give you an answer on how well it works.
The reason "cycling" products don't appear to work is because according to research in the past 5 years, the nitrite to nitrate bacteria is "nitrospira-like," not nitrobacter. There's also ALWAYS a roadblock at the ammonia to nitrite stage, which is why it seems lots of these products don't help at all -- even if you seed the bacteria something about the process makes it less efficient than the nitrite to nitrate conversion.

Just an update:
Currently, from what I know, the only product which has the correct freshwater nitrifying bacteria is BioSpira. At the moment, no other products do to my knowledge contain the correct nitrite--> nitrate bacteria. This means that BioSpira produces results, while other products only make a slight difference. This is not an endorsement for BioSpira, rather it is the truth.
