Just a general question. What does everyone use to lower ph on your tap water? Mine comes out at 8 and I use Ph down by Aquarium Pharmacuticals and it works really well. My water stays right at 7. I also have buffer solution that I use a little of just to make sure it stays there. The buffer is for 7 ph. I use this on my big tank also. I posed this question because reading through posts it seems to be a good learning question for those who are just joining the world of betta's.

My water comes out of the tap at 7.0, and after aging for a day or 2 it goes to about 7.4. I havnt bothered messing around with the ph yet because i dont trust myself, but for my bigger tank that i get in the future I'm going to try and keep it at 7

If your pH, KH, and GH are all high, just use some distilled mixed in with your tap water.
But, if your water has a high pH, and isn't well buffered, then using a pH buffer would be better.
