Carnivorous fish are often resistant to changes in food. Just because they don't like something doesn't mean you should give up on it. Given a few days of nothing but a new food, a betta will get hungry enough and will begin eating it. Ideally, you want your fish to accept a variety of foods, but you don't have to buy 30 different types to see what the fish likes. Instead, train your fish to eat new foods. This is true and also something to keep in mind when you first bring a new fish home and he/she won't eat at first.

I've had fish (bettas) that refused a new type of food for as long as five days. Just don't do it longer than a week and it'll be fine. Ok I will take your word for it then. I think I'll start him out tomorrow. I want to get it done before I put him in his new tank, but that wont be for a few weeks. I hope he aquires a taste for them!

Rather then start a new thread I'll just ask the question here.
Does anyone know about how long it takes for a betta to digest and then poop 1 betta byte? Or any food for that matter. Though I assume differnent types of food get broken down quicker.. so perhaps ill narrow it down to a pellet form..
Thanks
