:)Hi! I was wondering if it's okay for my bettas to eat frozen brine shrimp twice a week? Because that's what I'm feeding my little african dwarf frogs that share their bowls, and the bettas suck up more than their fare share of the food! Also, on such occasions (I'll be feeding the frogs twice a week, right before bowl cleanings), is it okay that the bettas eat as much as they want? I'm quite relieved because I finally got my frogs to eat something! Oh and a few days ago, I thought my betta Dustin had fungus, but it turns out he's just fine and I have no idea what that was on his fin, but it was gone a few hours later. I bought a package of BettaMax just in case, though! And yesterday Dustin did something really cute... He approached Larry the frog who was hanging out at the bottom of the tank, and I was watching closely ready to intervene in case Dustin bit Larry because that's what it looked like he was getting ready to do. But Dustin just kind of sniffed Larry over and then sort of lay on him a bit with his bottom and tail fins on Larry's back for a couple of seconds, then he swam off! It looked very sweet, but I was wondering, what was he doing? Could he have really been sniffing Larry, why would he do that, and why did he put his fins on the frog? Thanks a bunch for any help with all my questions!

Hi, Shiloh No harm in bettas eating BBS twice a week. However, they are little pigs, (if allowed, mine would eat until they pop! ), so be careful not to let them eat to their hearts' content. My female bettas once shared a tank with some peaceful little cory cats, who are bottom feeders. The girls would eat all of their own food & then seek, find, and gobble the cory food! I finally moved the cories to their own private tank and added zebra danios (also surface feeders and VERY fast) to the betta tank. Now those betta girls are getting a "taste" (pun intended) of their own medicine! Regarding Dustin's behavior w/Larry, bettas often "rest" (like butterflies) on tank decor. Maybe Dustin was just taking a break...(?) and decided that Larry was the spot!

Thank you very much for the info! Your message explained everything ) I think what I'm actually going to do is put the froggies in a different bowl (without gravel) to be fed because the bowls took a while to rinse all the brine shrimp out of the gravel afterwards. And that way, the frogs will get the food instead of the greedy bettas! I'll give the bettas a little snack, though Thanks again!
