Exactly how do you think I ended up with eight bettas in the first place? i don't need a ferrari, I need a betta minivan!

Hehehe, at the rate I'm going, I'd need a betta mobile home! Not for the number of fish, but for the size of the tanks. I couldn't even find room in the car to bring Biggs's tank back to school (poor little guy's back in his 3 gallon, at least til the summer).
I think a betta road trip would rock. Except I'd have to leave the bettas at home, because the road is no place for a fish. However, I could just imagine them staring longingly out the window as the landscape zips by.

I have another bit of info to add. I spoke with the Bacteriologist in the dept. where I work about aquarium salt. He could see where it could help prevent the flourishing of unwanted bacteria, but mentioned it's use as a means to promote the growth of beneficial bacteria in the water, specifically those that help break down waste. But he didn't think it was absolutely necessary to use salt. Just some food for thought.
