After a very recent water change, I came back into the room to discover a spherical brown object about the size of a pea. Upon trying to fish out the rather ambiguous object, it broke into pieces. Once removed, it smeared onto a papertowel into a substance the consistency of toothpaste. Could someone please tell me what that was or what is wrong with my Betta fish. Thank you very much.

Every now and then I find one of those big brown things...they look way too big to have come out of the betta - all I can figure (and without getting really disgusting here ) is that sometimes poop expands in the water Bottom line is, it's nothing to worry about.
