Hi! We just put three females together and when we put them in their tank they started flaring their gills. Is this a way for intimidating each other?? If you have an answer plz post it. Thanks! ps. If you could hurry that would be really helpful ;D

From what I've read this is a way to establish a pecking order. They can even start fighting but once they establish who is dominant things should probably calm down.

Yes, they're in the middle of establishing a pecking order.
Just make sure to watch them closely over the next few days, and look out for any injuries or fish which aren't eating.
Details on the tank size, and how much aquascaping you have will be useful.

I'm interested to hear how it works out with your girls. Mine flared, chased each other almost nonstop, nipped fins.... I ended up having to separate them after two days, it was getting too brutal. But I had 2 together and I've since been told you should have at least 3, bigger tank, etc. etc. Good luck!!!

3 is the minimum for girls, that way they can pick an alpha. If it were just two, theyd constantly try to fight for control.
