*kick kick kick* LOL! Your newbies are very beautiful. Actually, I got 2 more females, so don't feel bad. Y'all are having troubles with your females? HA! I've got rhapsody in with a little white girl at the moment (really teeny. think she's still a baby) and a third in a 2.5 gal quarantined. So far, no chasing, no fin nipping, etc. I'm just waiting to add the other full grown to see the fireworks start...Oh, the other new girl is black with red fins.

No kicks from me. I think it is great that you keep getting more. I show these post to my husband who thinks I am crazy. That way he knows it is not just me. LOLOLOL ;D Keep up the great work. And the new babies are beautiful.

Gorgeous!! That opaque boy is a real stunner!! .... So is the Red BF, and the copper/golds... (who are definitly much prettier in real life... cameras never capture how cool the golds and coppers really look!) Did you ever have any luck w/ spawning your Apaches? That male was beautiful....

Thanks everybody, I really need to stop getting more though LOL. ;D Megan, I agree about the copper/gold, they look different colors in almost every picture and it's hard to capture their gold irridescence in a photo. I didn't have any luck spawning the Apaches yet and I've decided to wait on spawning anybody until after Christmas since I'm going to be out of town for a week around that time. There isn't really anyone around here that I'd trust to take care of them while I was gone. Adult fish are one thing, but those babies need lots of attention. BBG, I've got all of my females separated, I'm a little leery of putting any of them together now LOL. I might try again since I have more girls now and see if they can get along, it sure would make things a lot easier for me, but I don't want to lose any of them. My divided 29 gallon only has 3 fish in it right now because I'm afraid to put any together LOL. I have to eat more pickles to get more gallon jars !!

LOL!? LOL!? All of your girls are separated now? Well, what are BettaRic & I to do? (j/k) My 20-gallon, future, female betta abode is all but cycled. I would divide it in a minute & give it to deserving guys except it's a 20H vs. L, so I'm not wild about that idea. Plus, it's mega-girlie. My D-day is supposed to be next Friday! Hmmm, what excuse can I use now? I may go for it anyway. I can always separate them if it becomes too unbearable. (I don't have BT prices or shipping costs to defend, either. )

Hey BBG, I put the girls together yesterday and they are hardly fighting at all, WOOHOO!!! Well, all but Butch that is. She went in for five seconds and immediately started trouble so I yanked her out so fast her head is still spinning, LOL. I've got 7 girls together and they are getting along so good I am completely amazed. I think the golden girl is gonna be the boss lady, but she still isn't that agressive.

All right, BMVP! More proof that "Girls just wanna have fun!" I'm glad they're back together and it's working out this time. Butchie's just too much of a bully, huh? Your "golden gal" looks like she should be boss. She is SO striking! (I love the look of the gold/copper bettas.... maybe someday....) OK - my confidence is boosted again. If I can snap some pictures this evening (so's I can remember everybody's beauty, later ), tomorrow may be D-day...

Well I decided I better do something because with all of the girls separated, my water changes were getting to take forever LOL. It's not that I mind doing them, it's just that I had this 29 gallon tank sitting there with only three little fish in it! I figured since I'm going out of town at Christmas, it sure would be a good idea to put them in there now so they had time to get used to each other before I left them alone. I also want to make sure I can put everyone in at least one gallon since I'll be gone for 5 days and I didn't have enough pickle jars for all of the ladies LOL.
It's day three and they are doing fine. I have to say, the more females the better it will go because I tried as few as three and it didn't work out, but this time I added 7 together and they aren't even trying to hurt each other. They have tons of room in that 29 gallon though and lots of hiding spots. Can you believe that NONE have any shredded fins or tails!!?? I'm so relieved after the other two female groups I tried, this one is actually working out well.
BBG, Goldie thought she was gonna be the boss, but I think it's actually going to be a red cambodian female (sister to the red DT BF pictured above). Both are a little bigger than the rest, but they don't pick on any of the smaller girls at all just kind of challenge each other LOL. Even Ixi is in there and she is doing great!! Mean little Butch can just play musical tanks from now on, wherever I have room to put her LOL. I can't wait for the holidays to be over so I can try to breed some of these cuties!!
BettaRic, I have 24 but they aren't all in separate jars. I've got 3 in one gallon pickle jars, 2 in 2.5 gallon drum bowls, 2 in a divided 5 gallon, 1 in another one gallon tank, 1 in my spawning tank to keep it cycled while not in use, 7 in half gallon beanie boxes which get changed every other day and 7 females and 1 juvenile in my divided 29 gallon. I'll get some pics up tonight or tomorrow.

Looking forward to some pics, BR. And more pics from you, BMVP. Once I get my pictures taken, someone will have to coach me through actually getting them posted. (On the other hand, if sef can do it, so can I! ;D - - j/k, sef!) NOW I know why you've been hit-or-missing (a tiny bit) on this forum, BMVP. You've been in "Water Change H-E-Double-Toothpics!" (It's a bear performing 20+ changes a week, isn't it? ) Curious, do you have a "fish room" that is warmer than your others? How do you keep your smaller containers warm? Thanks.

I tried to take some pics the other day but I just put a new bulb in the tank and it's not as bright as the old one, my pics were all blurry. I'll have to figure out another way to light it and try again. BBG, I don't mind doing the water changes, I actually kind of enjoy them (I know, I need to get a life LOL). I don't have a fish room, but most are in the kitchen where it is warmer and I just ordered some more of those Hagen 25 watt heaters for my 2.5 gallon bowls since the weather is getting colder. Sorry to be so slow replying again LOL. I just got back from staying at my mom's house for a few days. I took my laptop with me, but no internet access, YIKES!!! ;D
