Hey,
Well, I went to the pet store yesterday to pick up some more water decholorinator and aquarium salt when I overheard a staff member selling bettas to a kid. The kid was going to buy one of those betta hexes and two bettas. The sales guy, working on commission I guess, was pushing for the kid toget the individual Betta Tech bowls, saying that if you keep both bettas in the same tank, even if there is a barrier, will cause the water to go cloudy because constant flaring will cause the fish to release some sort of hormone that will cloud the water. Now, I never heard about this before, so I didn't bother butting in, but it sounds like a load of bull just to sell more product.
Can anyone confirm/ deny this for me? I just think it's interesting.
Thanks -Chris

While fish do release hormones and other under-studied stuff into the water, this is bullhonkey. However, two fish in too small an amount of water can cause it to go cloudy very quickly =)

I agree with amanichen on this one. That is the most far-fetched thing I have ever heard of in my life.
