Ok, i put xaiver in a bigger tank to himself, but he just lays at the bottom and doesnt dance but he has started making a bubble wall or whatever. so whats up with that? Neo loves his bigger tank and i think hes trying to eat the gravel or maybe i just didnt clean it off enough cause his mouth is blue as the gravel, lol. what can i do to make Xaiver happy?

can xavier see neo to flare at him? that might help, or a mirror. he's probably just adjusting, give him some time and a bit of extra love i'd think

Bob George did that for weeks after I got him out of his lilly "death trap" vase and put him in the Explorer. But he never came out from behind his rocks and plant until I got the other fish.
I hung a mirror for the first time behind his tank and he really reacted to it. I wish I knew how to post a photo and I'd show you.
The first day he had company he was withdrawn, the second he ventured out a bit more. Today, he ate like a pig and I watched him for like ten minutes flaring at himself in the mirror.
He's patrolling the tank now. Probably looking for the rogue he saw earlier! LOL!!

so if i put neo near him so he'll flare at him that will energize him? hes made a huge bubble nest or whatever. before when i out them near by each other hed flare for a while and then freak out and hide in his plant. it never made him dance.

when they go behind their plant its just their private place, give him some time to get to know his flare buddy, he'll go behind his plant when he needs time to himself. yes i find it energizes them a lot, and after a while i really think they become attached to their buddy, not enough to not kill if put in a tank with him, but i know one of my bettas sulks when im cleaning his buddy
