hi, i'm new to bettas. i have a female (i think). she's very small and plain. i've had her for about 2 weeks in an uncycled 2.5 gallon.
she seems to be doing quite well, very feisty, and hungry. (i know that horizontal stripes on the body are signs of stress...which she has had, and they've gone away).
she has 2 vertical red stripes on her right gill (or operculum) that concerns me. is there something wrong with her? should i treat her for something? i didn't see anything on the diagnosis page that matches this.
the red doesn't appear to be a part of a normal coloration of fish. it also doesn't seem to bother her in the least.
is this normal, or what can it be? for now, i've been making sure the water is immaculate, and washing my hands after anything to do with the tank, in case it's TB.

If the stripes are slightly curved, and vertically oriented, then that's part of the normal coloration =)
