Hey Guys,
So my Betta "Particle" had ich, then fin rot, and every morning when I woke up for the last couple weeks I've expected him to have gone to the great fishtank in the sky... but he's still alive, to my continued surprise and delight.
Here are my specs:
1 1/2 gal uncycled tank, I change the water every other day, tap water treated with "BettaSafe" conditioner, a dash of aquarium salt. The tank's not heated, but it's close to a lamp. I feed him 2 or 3 "Betta Bites" twice a day.
His fin rot is gone, it was really advanced, his dorsal has been reduced to a stub and his tail is nearly gone, though his anal doesn't seem to have been impacted. I am treating him with the BettaFix product, and I haven't seen any more of the yucky black stuff, but now he's got a white stringy fungus on his tail...
Other than looking grungy and weathered, he seems to be okay--he wasn't eating for a few days but now he eats when I feed him and swims a lot more, especially when I'm sitting with him to keep him company.
I'm planning to move him to a bigger, heated tank next week when finals are over and I have a little more time to devote to his setup, but until then what can I do about his tail fungus and his general grungy appearance? (When I got him he was very dark metallic blue--almost black-- with red in his anal fin and the two that hang down, now he's not quite so iridescent.)

Get some jungle fungus clear and use according to the directions.
