While many HB members are animal lovers, and many of them have animals other than fish, I would like to say that the purpose of HB is primarily to discuss fish, and betta related problems (of course there's still a general chat section.)

By coming to HB it is assumed that you want to act in the best interest of your fish, and any other animals you have. It is well known that some pet stores that sell fish do not give the best care to them.

There are better, and more appropriate places to discuss animal rights issues and the unethical treatment of animals by people and companies. We encourage you to make use of them.

Unfortunately I think we all know those stores that practice poor procedures and may not take the best care of their animals. Or the stores where the employees have absolutely no clue what they are taking about when it comes to fish care. As upsetting as it may be, there are many resources where you can discuss business practices and take action against these places. I understand that it is frustrating to witness animals being treated poorly, but Healthy Betta is not specifically one of the places to discuss this. We would appreciate if you would refrain from making anti-company references in posts. Thank you.
