I was looking at bios on some of the members, and I noticed that alot of you are under the age of twenty five. I am twenty eight and feeling like the oldest member of HB. So I was curious to see how many people are around my age or older. You do not have to state your age if you like, I just want to see if I am in the minority here.

I'll be turning 24 in a few months. Our membership is pretty spread out age-wise, although we do have a good number of younger members.

I turned 34 on the 28th of last month.
I remember 19, I had my first pc when I was at that age. It ran 10 mghz and was DOS.
For some of the yonger folks, DOS means Disk Operating System

Mine had 640k a bit more than that one. Oh it had a switch to go from 4 mhz to 10 mhz too.
Today Im running a 6 year old machine, a door stop to some people. Its a intel celeron 466 mhz, 128 mb ram, 13 gig hard drive and win 2000 pro. But I think its been a good pc.
I just got dsl 3 months ago.

i come from a family of computer geeks. we have a family desktop - a dell 2.2 GHz pentium IV, 256mb ram, 30gb hard drive, windows xp home...no one uses it much though. i have 3 laptops (my mom and sister each have their own but i don't know the models). i mostly use the latest two, though. the first is a toshiba satellite 1805-S207: 1.1 GHz intel celeron, 256mb ram, 20gb hard drive, windows xp home. last october i got a toshiba satellite A75-S229: 3.2 GHz pentium IV, 512mb ram, 80gb hard drive, windows xp home. it's a widescreen model, really too large and unwieldy for travel but great as a desktop replacement. a few weeks ago i joined the rest of my multimedia-intensive buddies on the apple side of the fence with a powerbook g4 12 inch, 1.5 GHz powermac (which is actually slightly faster than a 3GHz pentium IV/2GHz pentium M), 768 ram, 80gb hard drive, OSX Panther. to me the investment is worth it because i use the machines constantly

My theory was right. I am in the minority here age wise. That is okay. I have been learning alot from all of you young whipper snappers. I even got a computer lesson from supersixone and BlueBetta. He he ;D

22 here, and I've been using computers since I was 8 =) honestly, i can't remember a time when i didn't use a computer. i know i was using one when i still lived in canada, and we didn't move to the US until i was 6. i still remember the little command prompt that you had to use once the thing started up. we're a bunch of computer geeks in my family though. my parents have been using computers since the days of programming on punch cards and room-sized machines

My fiancee is the one who sets it all up for me as well. If he didn't I would just plug the cords in where ever they fit and pray that it would work.
