Where do all of you get your floating plants? I cannot find them ANYWHERE!! Does anyone know of any online places that will ship some, and have cheap shipping?

Have you checked ALL of the aquarium stores in your area? I got mine at a local pet shop. Is there anything specific that you are looking for? The place I went to has more varieties of water plants than I have seen anywhere else, but sadly they are not a chain store. If you know what you want I would be more than happy to ship it to you. It would probably cost about $7.00 - $10.00 (US) for shipping, plus the cost of the plant. If that is too much, no worries Just thought I would offer. Does anyone know how long water plants can survive without light??

There aren't as many floating plants available in pet stores as there are rooting plants. Mostly you'll find anacharis, hornwort, and water sprite, but these are fairly common, especially the anacharis. Hornwort isn't really suited to tanks though, so you may want to consider anacharis or water sprite. Here's a link with some plant information: www.aquabotanic.com/plantsandfish.htm

The only real reason I need a floating plant is to keep the current from bothering my fish

I don't think it'll be too much of an issue. You can always get anacharis, which does well under a variety of conditions.
