[glow=blueviolet,2,300]I recently purchased 3 goldfish. Maybe it's just me but one of them seems to be fatter then the other ones. Does it mean anything or do I just have a fat fish? lol this may seem like a weird question. Also I got a new betta, Evanescence 3 weeks ago and he has only eaten like 1 pellet so I'm a little concerned. Is there anything I can do to convince him to eat? ~Aranthi[/glow]

Have you tried offering the betta anything other than pellets? Bettas can be highly picky. I suggest trying freeze dried blood worms (available at most pet stores I think, they come in little canisters, like the pellets). Also keep an eye out for 'whole brine shrimp in gel'. If he doesn't like either of those, you can also buy frozen brine shrimp and frozen blood worms. You may have to just keep trying different things until you find something he likes.
As for the goldfish, it's probably just fat, LOL. I am no expert on golfish, but I know that they can be different sizes, especially if they are not all the same age. Some of them grow to be very large. Still, I don't feel qualified enough to give you a definative answer there.

He is probably still adjusting to his new home. It takes some bettas quite awhile to adjust to new surroundings. Also make sure that if he is not interested in the food within several minutes, then remove the food especially the gel because it will get the tank dirty very fast. Just try maybe once a day sticking the food in front of him, and then once he realizes that he is hungry and starts eating, then maybe try feeding him twice a day. I don't know anything about the reproduction of goldfish, so I can't answer your first question for you.
