I just bought a new live plant yesterday, anacharis, and my snail keeps sucking on the roots! I pick him up and put him on the other side but he keeps on getting under it and sucking on the bottom lol. Is there anything I can do to prevent this or do I just have to buy a new plant every month or so?

It may either be eating the decaying part of the plant which won't cause any harm or some snails do chow on plants...apple/mystery snails for example have been known to depending on the species. Sometimes people feed them a bit of something in planted tanks, such as a small piece of lettuce, to prevent them from eating the plants.
Has he continued to do it?

Everytime he goes near it now I throw in an algae wafer and it seems to distract him ;D
