I was wondering, do any of you know if there is a gravel vac that will remove debris, but leave the water in the tank? I have a couple of siphons, but now having otos, I'd like a way to remove the debris without removing water, if such a way exists.

Hmm no I dont think so saw... I think the point of the vacs is to clean the debris while you are doing a water change...but let me know if you come across any

the gravel vacuum needs water in order to take away all the debris from the tube, otherwise the tube will clog up.

Use a turkey baster to suck up the poo and then squirt the water back through a coffee filter:
1.) Use unbleached coffee filters- these have no paper bleaching chemicals which might come out in the tank water
2.) Before use, run the filter under a tap or pour water through it for a minute or so to dislodge any dust, etc. on the surface of the filter.
(you can also use some aquarium filter floss in a clean strainer.)
