Do you mean the betta bulbs? There's folks in one of the betta lists I'm in that use them and they grow really fast.

After googling for "betta bulbs" this is what I've found out:
are actually aponogetons which are a bulb/tuber type plant and there's quite a few varieties of it.
quick growing even under low light.
can be split up, just snip off the leaves and the roots then place the tuber part in a pot of sand and leave in a dark cool area. (before "reusing" the tuber make sure you rinse it well)

is there any kind of plant solution ineed for the water??? to keep them healthy and maintain them?? for any kind of fish plants What size tank and how many fish do you have? In general, you won't need supplemental fertilizer with most easy to grow plants. The fish should provide all the fertilizer you need. You may want to occasionally dose an iron-based fertilizer if your water source isn't iron rich. Additionally, good lighting is essential no matter what the nutrient level.
