Hi, As you may know by now, I have just set up a 5 gallon tank for 1 betta. I have a well so did not use any water conditioners, thinking I did not need one to remove chlorine. Since then, I think it might be good to take advantage of some of the other benefits. I have NovAqua here and it says it removes heavy metals too. Is there any problem with using NovAqua (or Amquel for that matter) if I don't have chlorine in my water?
Thanks!

Hi, I posted some questions in what I feel was the wrong forum, regarding my water. I added a link to it to another thread here, but it seems that thread was removed. Anyway, I thought I find an appropriate thread to add it to, instead of starting a whole new thread, so will try adding the link here. I hope I didn't do something wrong and then THIS one disappears! healthybetta.proboards19.com/index.cgi?board=generalcare&action=display&thread=1148831754Since my last post, I ran out and bought 4 different bottles of water. The store brand spring and distilled waters and Great Bear spring and distilled waters. Both spring waters had a ph of around 6.4 and the distilled around 6.0. The Great Bear ones each had a SLIGHTLY lower ph than the store brand ones, judging from the slightly lighter color. Now my question is - do I use the distilled with the lower ph, as I'd have to use less of it to get an optimal ph level? Or do I use the spring water, since it has more of what the fish might need left in? I'm feeling very OCD (obsessive/compulsive LOL!) right now and just want to do what's BEST.
