Snowy is a young white Betta that I saved from shot glass hell over the week end. I put him in a 20 gallon long tank with about 6 Cory Cats. A few of these cory Cats are pretty big but the cories are harmless and just go about their business cleaning the bottom of the tank. Snowy was fun to watch as she explored her new home. He immediately declared the area I had made especially attractive for Bettas as his own. Then he decided he wanted the whole tank to himself and spent Saturday all day flaring up at all the Cories chasing them around the tank. But by Sunday he was ready to compromise and let the Cories have the bottom so long as he has full rights to any part of the tank he desires. And by noon on Sunday he had built a very big bubble nest. I fed him Brine Shrimp and that was all he needed to learn that I am the big thing that brings the food. So now if I get anywhere near the tank Snowy comes swimming to the front and makes it perfectly clear that he is ready for this thing to feed him some more. He won't let me handle him yet but he will in time. The next time the cories lay eggs on the glass sides Snowy will be in CoryCatEgg heaven. Bettas love Cory Catfish eggs. Please share your Betta stories.
