I am trying to cycle my tank. I have had it up and running for 20 days with my 2 bettas and am wondering what is going on. Here's the specs: 5-gal minibow w/ whisper filter heated to 78 F Tap water aged and treated with aquasafe pH: 7.4 Ammo: between 0 and 0.25 Nitrite: between 0 and 0.25 (hard to tell) Nitrate: looks like 5.0 Does this seem normal, or am I doing something wrong?

Those would be decent numbers for Ammonia, Nitrite and Nitrate in a cycling tank. Did you see the Ammonia spike? that would be a going indicator on if it started cycling. I say that because I can get those readings in my uncycled filtered 2.5 tank.
How big and how often do you do water changes?

I saw the ammonia get to about 0.3 so I began replacing about 10% of the water each day that the ammonia reading tested anything above 0.25.

20 days isn't long at all for a cycle. It sounds as if your tank is settling into a good cycle. Give it some more time.
