I suspect that my divided 10 gallon tank doesn't have enough circulation, the only part that get filtered is where the filter is. So basically what I want to ask is what is a way to have even circulation. I was looking at the ones that Amanichen's site has. I am very interested in the one he currently has, but I am not sure what you need. He basically has a duetto DJ-100 filter in a overflow box. I have all the materials except the overflow box which I can't find. so is there an alternative?

The dividers to slow the circulation alot. Have you tried making a divider? you can buy some plastic canvas with very big holes in it that should allow for better circulation (look for ones with a count between 0-14). It would be cheaper than the filter body

The overflow box on my tank really isn't an overflow box, it's more of a siphon box. The reason it's there is to get the equipment out of the tank, to improve aesthetics, as well as free up room. It's my way of replicating the functionality of a canister or HOB filter using a filter that's designed to be fully submerged. It was itself an actual power filter at one point, and I removed the motor and cut a few notches so I could use it on my tank. ======================== If you want complete circulation all you need to do is set it up so the filter takes water in from one end, and dumps it out in the other end. Take a look at this image, and look at method #2: s94779296.onlinehome.us/website/Fish/articles/dividedtank/pics/upowerdivided.jpgThis picture also shows how the equipment is arranged: s94779296.onlinehome.us/website/Fish/tankpics/fish104.jpgI actually use a heater that fits within the box, but the overall layout is the same. ======================== As for the materials I use...the DJ100 has a short fitting included with it. I then attach a 90 degree plastic elbow, and some plastic tubing. Liberal use of electrical tape is the name of the game. As to what this actually looks like, here's a picture. The tube that goes to the left side of the picture is the outflow of the filter: s94779296.onlinehome.us/website/Fish/tankpics/filtertop.jpg
