I've had good luck with my fish eating(took harry potter 3 days and cujo 1)... alot of these forums are always saying to give them bloodworms but my fish seem to do better with pellets. just keep in mind your fish has a new home and who wants to eat when theres all that new stuff to play with

It does take a while but I wouldn't feed bloodworms, They r intended for treats. I suggest betta bites of betta bio gold. My fish eats betta bites and has a spaz attack when I show him the tooth pick I feed him with in the morning. He gobbles it down

Just another newbie here - or "egg" as it's called - try another type of food for him, and give him time to settle down into his new surroundings. Some of them are very sensitive to stress. Maybe he's small because he's young? If that's the case he will grow and I wouldn't worry about the size. There are several types of food you can try. Betta Bites are really tiny so he might like that.
Hope he gets acclimated soon!

It does take a while but I wouldn't feed bloodworms, They r intended for treats. I suggest betta bites of betta bio gold. i am aware that bloodworms are not appropriate for the bulk of their diets; however, all three of my boys turned their noses up at pellets when they were first offered to them, but accepted the bloodworms. once they became accustomed to eating (usually only took two, maybe three, feedings with the worms), they began eating pellets, and i was able to switch them over to that. a treat food is often an effective way to coax a betta who wont eat to begin eating.
