I Got My Betta Yesterday And Today I Bought Him A Heater And Put It In The Tank. Anyway He Freaked Out And Kinda Looked Like He Went Into Cartiac Arrest. So I Decieded To Name Him Cardiac. Whats The Best Temp I Should Have Is Heater At? Right Now I Think It's At 80. And Is It Possible For Him To Go Into Cartiac Arrest?

First thing to do:[glow=red,2,300]DON'T PANIC[/glow] (in large friendly letters:))Bettas often take a week or so to get comfortable in their new home before eating normally. I suggest offering the same food in the proper amounts at the usual times each day - if he spits it out, remove it a few minutes later so it doesn't decompose and soil the water. Refrain from the impulse to offer food every time he *looks* like he *might* eat. Bettas can go 10-14 days without food (although that's terrifying for us human caregivers : so don't worry quite yet. My Kelso ate well for the first day, then refused food for over a week before he decided to eat. He's been fine ever since (14 months and counting:))
