Does anyone else have a betta who's afraid of his own shadow?
Aztec is very friendly to us, eats well, and is active, but whenever I hold up a mirror to give him some exercise and make him feel "not so alone" all he does is swim away and hide instead of "confront" the "intruder"! Am I the only one with a cowardly betta?

Am I the only one with a cowardly betta? Probably not, and I wouldn't worry about it. As long as he's not doing anything like trying to jump out, or ram himself into a tank decoration while swimming away, then it's nothing to worry about.

Am I the only one with a cowardly betta? some bettas are like that. they prefer not to have any confrontations. but if the intruder is real & invades your betta's territory, he will instinctively react with defence/offence.
