My betta Max died recently 
after some major water quality problems (although he was a big boy and who knows how old he was when I got him? He lived with me for 14 months).
Max lived "next door" to Moonunit for over a year. I got them both on the same day and after I upgraded their tanks and found space on my shelf for them, they became close flaring buddies. Now that Max is gone, Moonie is sad
. His tail fin is showing signs of stress and he's so excited every time I walk into the room. (Of course I've done water changes and made sure his water is perfect - it is....and there's nothing in the tank he could hurt himself on. )
Today I moved Taz over to Moonie's shelf. Taz is mostly a loner - he would play with Pentecost occasionally but for the most part he's not terribly needy of a flaring partner. Since Pentecost is gone now too (it's been a BAD month) I thought the two of them (Taz and Moonie) might enjoy each other's company.....
