no bubbles nest

Well- so I cleaned vegas' tank yesterday, rinsing the gravel and plants......and did the complete water change. he's eating well and swims around alot (btw-he likes to play tag-he'll run away when I come to the tank, but as soon as I'm not looking he's flaring at the tank wall nearest me-hysterical). but-he's never made a bubble nest that I know of-what do they look like and how long does it take for them to build one?

Bubble nests are just clusters of bubbles (sort of like spit bubbles for those of us with kids ) and not all male bettas make bubblenests. Some make them near their heaters, others make a "ring" around the top of the tank. How long does it take? They can appear overnight, but again, they don't all build them regularly.
Once I was sitting quietly in my bedroom where most of my tanks are located and I heard a soft "kissy" sound repeatedly, and realized it was Mighty Man building a bubble nest . It was so cute!

my 1st betta didnt make one till after 4 weeks or 3 weeks after i got him and my other one took only a week and made a silly begginers buble nest that was nothing but bubbles all over the rim of his bowl but now they are profesionals

mine usually like to start their nests the day after a water change - the hotter it is, the bigger the nest.

One of my bettas Chester had never made a bubble nest and I had, had him for about 6 months then when I moved Champ in with him(seprated 10 gallon) and Champ made his nest the next day I woke up and Chester had made one to, ever since then it seems they compete to see who can build the best nest, LOL.

My guy makes bubble nests off and on. I think it's when ever he feels like going through the work of building it. For a short time, he would only build a nest if it was going to rain soon but then he sort of changed that pattern unless his weather skills were slightly off .
