Hi!
I just wanted to ask a question. My little red betta is very little. I got him about a month ago. When I go to feed him he will jump out of the water to take the food out of my hand. I was wondering if other bettas did that too. I feed him 3 to 4 bits of food twice a doy. Do I need to feed him more food. I feed my other betta the some and he doesn't do that. Is he just a little piggy? I just want to make sure he is alright. Thank you Buddy

It sounds like the amount of food you are feeding him is just fine. Bettas are little pigs. They always want to eat more than what's good for them.

Everything will be fine, just make sure you have a cover over his tank.

Hi!
Thank you I put a hair net on his bowl. I hope that will keep him int he bowl. He mostly jump when I am feeding him but sometime when he see me he will jump to say Hi. He is a very busy little guy and sometimes it scare me when he jumps.
Thank you Buddy

Actually hair nets work great for bettas They are open-weave so air gets through and the elastic keeps them on tightly. Good idea!

My betta jumps when I feed him too! He can't jump high enough to actually get the food out of my hand, but every time he sees my hand over his tank, he accociates that with being fed and he starts jumpin like crazy!

My bettas do the same thing too!!! Once they see my hand, they follow where my hand goes, then jump. One of them even jumpped and touched my hand once, it scared me. Hehe! I guess they think my hand=food? I am just thinking if it hurts if they accidently bite me.
