"Betta" than ever!

I just purchased my 2 bettas today, Fire and Ice. I was assured that the divided betta bowl I purchased was "plenty of room" for them, well after I found this site and started reading, as well as watching them, I decided it wasn't. So, I went out and purchased each of them a 1 1/2 gal mini aquarium, with an airstone filtering system. Now for my questions: Will the airstones create any problems for the fish? It's inside a riser tube, so the only place the bubbles come out is the top if the tube, but since bettas frequently go to the surface, I wondered if it bothered them. Also, they've been swimming around since I put them in there, resting very little. They did eat a bit, so they seem OK, Is it possible they're just stretching their fins, as they've been cooped up for so long, and will settle down eventually? I'm not sure how they act when stressed, but seem fine. Any other general advice would be welcome, though I'm reading every bit I can get to here. Thanks, Kelly

Hi,
No, the filters won't bother them as long as the current isn't blowing them around. All fish go through an adjustment period and it's typical for bettas not to feel quite at home for around a week.
If you're new to fish and/or bettas, browse through the sections here more information.
