My female eats more food than any other betta I've had. Normally I follow the 'give them no more than they'll eat' rule, usually somewhere between 4-6 biogold pellets. After I gave her the regular amount, she tried to jump the 3 inches to try for a pellet that got stuck on the hinge of the hood "door," So I gave her a few more. How much is too much to give her? I think she'd eat the whole bag if I let her! So far, she has never had any signs of constipation. Another thing strange with her, she will sometimes scoop up the last few pellets all at once, and chew on them a minute or two later. She's a weirdo sometimes, but I love her

I've been giving my bettas 3-4 pellets or 2-3 blood worms, or a small pinch of freezedried brine shrimp a day. They always act hungry, but that's all I get them. Someone told me the betta bio gold food has more ash than other brands, and that can increase their chance for constipation, so its something watch out for. But if she hasn't had that problem yet, seems the 4-6 is working good.

If you are feeding her once a day then the 4-6 pellets is okay. If you feed her twice a day then feed her 2-3 pellets per feeding. Also have you tried feeding her a variety of food? Like sawcat said, those pellets can cause constipation. Maybe try adding a few other things into her diet if you haven't already. I know my fish like variety better than eating the same thing everyday.
