Hi thx for the help on my other threds. Um today i went to petsmart and i bought so me san francisco freezed dryied bloodworms for my betta. i also have betta bio-gold. but when i was there i was lookin at these brine shrimp eggs and yu needed to hatch them. i was wondering if they would be ok for my betta it said for baby fishes but i was thinking live food would be nice for my betta and also is it ok for me to like just put the live brine shrimp in the tank and let it swim with the betta and he can eat any of them when ever he feels like?? umm and is it ok if it just eats live brine worms? like i know i shouldnt over feed but what should i do with the rest of the brine worms that hatched??? like any help ty

I don't know much about brine shrimp but what I do know is this:
if you use the regular type of brine shrimp eggs you have to be careful getting the shrimp out so you don't get any shells with them
brine shrimp need to be rinsed first before being placed in a freshwater tank so you don't add extra salt to the tank
the shrimp will only live about an hour in a freshwater tank so you have to be careful how many you put in so they don't pollute your tank
If you really want to give your "babies" live food you may want to look into another type such as microworms or vinegar eels. Both need alot of work tho.
You could just give them some frozen/thawed bloodworms as a treat. I like the Hikari brand as the smaller size comes in 2 individually wrapped ziplocked packages that are flat. I just break off a small amount and allow it to thaw in a shotglass or eggcup.
