Hikari has a new product out called Tropical Micro Wafers. They're being marketed as an alternative to flakes for tropical fish (tetras, livebearers, cichlids, catfish, and other small/medium size fish). I recently picked up a package and I really like them (my fish do too ). They sink, but slowly, and they are tiny so even small fish have no trouble eating them. I've tried them with rasboras and panda cories and they gooble them up. They could also be used for bettas to add some variety to their diet. General Overview of Hikari Tropical Micro Wafers^^They're not nearly as large as shown on that page, rather about the size of a pen tip. 2nd Overview, with ingredients^^There's a free trial offer on this page also, if anyone in the U.S. wants to try them out. You have to send an empty container of one your old foods in with the form (they're collecting market research). I think they're worth a try if you're looking for a new food. A 1.58 oz package, which will last for a while, is about $3.50.
