Newest Betta - Not Eating

Hi!
I am very sorry to hear about the closing of this forum on June 15th. The advise that I've read over the past year has been sooo helpful that I only had to post 2 threads. I have 2 Half Moon Bettas (red & blue) for over a year now, and could not resist my latest Betta. He is a gorgeous cobalt blue crown tail with florescent greens and blue in his fins. (Trying to get his pic on my thread). I just bought him two days ago and he is not eating. He is very shy compared to my other two Betta's. He hides when I approach the tank or try to feed him. I'm feeding them with flakes, bloodworm (treat), and small pieces of Krill at different times. My first two bettas come to the top and eat vigorously within seconds. They are very friendly and funny to watch. Any suggestions or advice? Will he just start eating if he gets hungry enough? He is so beautiful I would hate to see him get sick.

Has he pooped at all since you got him?

Does he look healthy otherwise?

Two days is nothing to worry about - it can take up to two weeks for a new guy to settle in. As thistle says, if he looks healthy otherwise and is active (bearing in mind you don't really know what "normal" is for this new friend ) just continue to offer the normal amount of food at the usual times each day, and if he does not eat, remove it after a few minutes so it doesn't decompose and soil the water. I bet after a few days he'll catch on and start wolfing it down
Resist the temptation to switch the foods around constantly (as in, offering one after the other if he refuses the first) - you're not a cafeteria ;D Just offer whichever food you're giving to the other fish and try not to panic.
