In the last 3 days, the water level in my tank has dropped about one inch. It's a small tank (1 gallon), so it's not quite as much water as it may sound like. But it's obviously not ideal. I can't tell if the tank is leaking or if something else is going on. I put a paper towel under the tank and at the end of the day it is saturated. I don't see any leaks, but I do see droplets of water forming near the top of the tank on one side. This is actually above the water level, so my guess is that it is condenscation (I know that's not spelled right!) that is forming. This is also my theory because we've had our warmest temperatures of the year here this week. But if it is condenscation that is causing the water to puddle under the tank, why would that cause the water level to drop?
Or is it more likely that it is just a leak?

What's the water temperature, what's the air temperature?
Condensation usually forms inside the confines of a tank/hood, not outside.
