Do your female bettas flare? Last night my female's tank light was on and she could see her reflection and was zooming around the tank giving herself cute little flares. It was quite the sight to see. I'll try to get a decent picture of her doing it.

My females flare at each other now and then. They'll flare their gills like males and spread their fins out. Then they'll chase each other around the tank. Eventually they'll get distracted by a plant or shiney object. They're pretty cute. ^^

Mine flare at each other too occassionally. It seems to happen when I get next to the tank to watch them and they see me and think that it's feeding time. My girls would really like me to take them to an "all you can eat buffet"! ;D

It's funny what the girls will flare for. My 3 girls never flared unless I was breeding them. Sweetie and Frisky flare at the guys! But I haven't seen Beauty flare. Doesn't mean she won't though.
