Hi, I was posting back in August 2003 and learned a lot from this forum. So glad to see that your forum is still going strong. Just want to let you guys know that I did buy a new Betta, his name is Pretty Boy right after I lost Blue Boy only after a few days in 2003. Well Pretty Boy is still with me so I must be doing something right. I try to change his water every 4 or 5th day. Pretty Boy was a rescue from Wally World and had flex with the cotton fluff all over the end of his fins. I completed a two week treatment with Bin ox and have been using a pinch ever since in his water change. He is in a gallon container so I just use about 1/2 of 1/8 of a teaspoon. I feed him the HBH Betta Bites in the morning and evening. Just before I change his water, I will feed him a few frozen blood worms. I usually cut the frozen cube into a very small chunk. After it defrosts, I then gradually add bits with a tooth pick. I will periodically let him fast for a day and once in a while I will give him parts of a cooked frozen pea. I use both AmQuel and NovAqua in a gallon of spring water and keep that at room temperature. In the winter, I have to use a heating pad on low setting. I use a small outside thermometer that sticks to his bowl to make sure his water temp stays around 76-78 degrees. I use one of those basters to suck up his poop each day. That way the water will stay cleaner longer. I hope this will help those of you who are new mom's. ;D Kathy
