I wasn't planning on getting another betta until I got a bigger tank, but today at our LPS, I decided to check out the bettas and fell in love with this little guy. Out of the shelf full that they had, he was the only one who'd watch me. He kept his eyes on me... so I have to have him before someone else runs off with him.
Just my luck, both of my parents won't be able to take me to the mall tomorrow, and of course, of all days, it's supposed to be a high of 34 degrees Celcius tomorrow. I hope that it isn't going to be that hot, and if it isn't, I'm walking the ten minutes down to the mall to get that little guy.
If I do get him (because my parents said I can't get him unless I clean my room, which I'm working on now, and ever since I asked for him, my mom called me immature and was complaining about me and the heat, and my dad was complaining that I'm going to let him sit in stagnent water and also that he ain't driving me tonight and tomorrow night might be too late
) what's the safest way to get him home?
And does anyone have any suggestions on how to easily keep a 71 degree tank warm at night instead of spending $30 on a heating pad? If I get a summer job, he's getting his own 5.5 gallon tank w heater.
Edit: I moved my tank from off of my bookshelf, which stood by my door, which is across the hall from my dad's workshop. The workshop isn't heated and no matter how many times I tell him, my dad leaves the door open so the cold air is always coming through to my room. I placed it on the other side of the room, on my desk, which is across from my bed. You never know... it could make a bit of a difference.
